Cover Letter for London’s West End Assistant Hotel Manager

Dear Mr McBell,

I am writing to express an interest in the post of London’s West End Assistant Hotel Manager which was advertised in last week’s edition of the magazine Round the World.

As you will see from my attached curriculum vitae, I am a 33-year-old Spanish graduate in Hotel Management from the Glion Institute of Higher Education (Switzerland), the world’s leading institution for hospitality and hotel management. In my ten years experience in the dynamic hotel management industry. I have managed five-star restaurants, hotels, luxury resorts and spas, theme parks, casinos and events. These jobs have enhanced my formal education. My current position is Assistant Hotel Manager for the Hilton Hotel in Valencia. In this post, I have met targets and captured 15% market share.

Since leaving university, apart from several years of practical experience in the various posts I have held, I have studied a post-graduate course in HR and Personnel Management. I have also attended various internal courses in the same areas in the companies I have worked for. My disciplined personality makes me a strong candidate. Moreover, I am fluent in French (Level C1), Arabic (Proficient) and Japanese (Level 1 of JLPT).

I am interested in the post advertised because it seems to me to represent exactly the type of opportunity I am seeking: to move into a well-known chain of international hotels with an established reputation and what’s more, to have the experience of managing your company myself. I have the skills to embark on this project.

I hope my application and my curriculum vitae will be of interest to you. I will follow up this letter with a phone call to see if I can arrange a time to meet with you. Besides, my present employers would be happy to supply a reference should you require one.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Cecilia Amo Cardona
