cover letters

You did very well with your CVs. Now it is time to learn how to write a cover letter in English.

Now in groups discuss the skill and qualities that the applicants for these two posts should have. Finally, students A concentate on teh Develpement Officer job, students B on the Brand Manager job.

Think of skills and accomplishments which you want to mention in your cover letter. Plan the four paragraphs (follow the AIDA model) and finally, write a cover letter in pairs.

In pairs, write your cover letter and send it to my email. We will all work together in the correction of mistakes and will decide which is the best cover letter.

DEVELOPMENT OFFICER FOR EXECUTIVE EDUCATION

Based in Paris, you will promote the specialist training services of a top international business school to companies throughout Europe. You will generate and follow up lead, handle client appointments and presentations, prepare tenders and secure client commitment before handover to account managers.

BRAND MANAGER EMEA

Based in London, but with extensive travel, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing a household name in video games. Liaising with head office in Japan, you will design and implement marketing campaigns for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, and ensure that cost and profit objectives are met.
